Ms. Carpenter joined Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg, and Lin as an associate in February 2026, having previously worked with the firm as a summer associate during law school. She is a new attorney from Philadelphia with experience in post-conviction and civil rights cases and she joins the firm from the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, where she worked as a term staff attorney in the legal division. In that role, she drafted per curiam opinions, memoranda, and orders for the judges in habeas corpus, prisoner civil rights, and immigration appeals.Â
As a law student, she worked with a number of Philadelphia-based public interest organizations including Phillips Black, the Federal Community Defender’s Capital Habeas Unit, the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity, and Community Legal Services’ Expungement Project. Prior to law school, she worked as a paralegal in the Conviction Integrity Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she managed the office’s Police Misconduct Disclosure database and assisted with post-conviction investigations.
Ms. Carpenter graduated summa cum laude from Temple University Law School in 2024.Â
