Court Confirms Injunction; City Must Allow Religious Organizations to Feed Homeless on Ben Franklin Parkway

In closely watched case, the Honorable William H. Yohn, Jr., has issued an Opinion granting the motion for preliminary injunction filed by Paul Messing on behalf of Chosen 300 Ministries, Inc, and other religious organizations seeking to prevent the City of Philadelphia from enforcing a regulation that would prohibit them from providing free meals to homeless persons on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.  Under the Court’s Order, the religious organizations may continue to engage in the expression of their religious beliefs by serving food to the City’s homeless population.
